Lonnie Sheppard, founder of Sheppard’s Glass, opened his business on November 1, 1968 in a double garage beside his home. He dealt with upholstery, auto glass, storefront, and residency; however, as the business grew, the need for more space became apparent. There were two additions, until 1986, when he built a new 60’x80’ building on his property. They opened the doors on December 15th, and have since made additions in 2004 and 2006. Lonnie and his wife, Dorothy, came from humble surroundings. With strong Christian values, hard work, and patience, the business has grown to be extremely versatile. They have three grown children, two of which are in the business with them. They take family pride in close customer relationships and meticulous service, attributing those to the success of the company. Lonnie and Dorothy have been married 52 years and they still reside in their home next door to the business. Their children are very proud of what their parents have accomplished and have the utmost respect for them. It is now a second–generation company; however, Lonnie and Dorothy are still dedicated to the business and remain active in the daily work schedule.
The President of Sheppard’s Glass, Calvin Sheppard, purchased two laser machines in October 2007. A new company, Sheppard’s Laser Creations, was established and opened in November 2007. Our new building opened in March 2008.
